3.5 miles: In reference to my post from Monday, I found myself really focusing on the few words below during my run. Today was a day where you realize you are just a small crumb in the universe. It was a reminder that building trust takes time and does not happen all at once. It was also a reminder that journeys are sometimes not what they appear to be at first. We always want life to swing one way until we realize that sometimes the way life did swing may have been much better than the plan we originally imagined for ourselves. We all strive to want to do better, do more and find a passion for something we can be passionate about. But I think it is important to always keep first and foremost the reasons as to WHY we are searching for such things. Remember-the drum major is not the one that makes the sound-the band makes the sound. You are just a small piece of the larger puzzle. Start thinking of the sound we make together or the sound you want to make. And truly-all of the othe shallow things simply will not matter.
Yes, if you want to, say that I was a drum major. Say that I was a drum major for justice. Say that I was a drum major for peace. I was a drum major for righteousness.
And all of the other shallow things will not matter.
