The hotel we happen to be staying at is hotel 53. We are currently in the city of York and what a wonderful city it is! It's full of laughter and nice people and fabulous music! Thus, in the spirit of 53, I've attempted to come up with 53 snapshots of this beautiful city! Actually, I'm going to attempt to write 26 1/2 facts as I'm not confident I can make it to 53! Here we go!
1. The hotel rooms are quite minimal
2. 150,000 is population
3. Vikings lived in York

5. Margaret clitherow was a Saint martyred here- sentenced by death by crushing sharp stones
6. Shambles street ancient street of butchers of York named from stalls used by butchers
7. 1400's medieval houses line this area
8. Barley Hall was a medieval town that was hidden but uncovered
9. Stone gate is where stone masons lived 250 years to build 1480 completed and catholic cathedral was born
10. Public piano players just add something special to this city.

12. Clifford's tower exists in the beautiful city of York!
13. Night of Friday March 16, 150 people used the walls of the Royal Castle as a source of protection
14. A famous pub known as "The Red Lion" exists in York!
15. Open markets exhibit the human beauty of York-natural beauty
16. Geese seem to own the roadways as they cross whenever they wish!
17. Maurice dancers wear flowers on their head exhibiting traditional dancing.
18. Yorkshire pudding is not pudding but more bread. It is named after the city of York!
19. Some of the villages look like Diagona Alley from Harry Potter
20. It is known by a local as a major tourist attraction. Many enjoy the town highlights!
21. An old fashioned Carousel can be found in the outskirts of the city
22. Beautiful wild roses line the fences. Flower boxes are full of life outside homes.
23. A bike path is located by the water for those who desire to ride.
24. Shops tend to close fairly early on the weekdays.
25. The locals are curious about who is stopping by and from where.
26. Just because a city is small does not mean it doesn't have an endless supply of history to offer.
