There are many moments in life when we are in need of a soul refresher. The kind that reminds you of what is important, makes you reflect on all the good memories, focuses your attention on gratitude and brings pure laughter and joy into the new memories made. April was a stellar month full of an early birthday celebration for Luna followed by a surprise pregnancy announcement, billions of Easter eggs collected, bubbles, a kite debacle, a new home for us in Pittsburgh and so much more.

To see your own child interact with her cousins is just pure happiness. From a child's perspective, you are always reminded of what is actually important in life. Happiness. Is there a real definition? I think in my mind this week I have been putting together a list of what pure happiness entails, the kind that is often searched for but for some, is never actually found. I'm happy to say that I'm blessed with a family that lives out happiness in its purest form, and it is a beautiful thing to behold.

1. Happiness is asking for another piece of chocolate and saying "mmmm" when it is in the mouth.

2. Happiness is when surprises unfold that are unforseen and you get to share them with those you love.

3. Happiness is tears of joy.

4. Happiness is collecting acorn outside and sharing them with your cousin.

5. Happiness is when the whole house is napping (even the babes) and the world is at peace.

Happiness is when those you love appreciate your company, your hearts and when we can listen to one another without judgement, offer suggestions, praise and congratulations and when we sincerely are happy with ourselves, we learn to not take anything for granted, and we find great JOY in the simple things-deep appreciation for one another and all that we have. Cheers to a new beginning in a place we have always called home and many more memories for our children who will always find peace and laughter amongst family and music, food and the reading of good books.

To whom much is given much is expected. But to be able to model happiness for our children is probably one of life's greatest gifts.
