This fine evening, I had the pleasure of going to my first ever comedy club performance with a friend visiting from Seattle, my brother and his fiance. My brother has the tendency of liking to walk to various destinations. He also tends to widely underestimate the distance in which one has to travel by foot. Flashback to Denver Colorado, he had the entire family walking 45 minutes to get to a particular destination. It's safe to say, we saw the whole city that day.  After walking all the way down the hill to the restaurant, he realized, there would not be enough time to walk all the way up the hill to grab our car and thus began our Uber adventure.

I have to say, any time I have been in an Uber, I always find the conversation to be fascinating. Ironically, this adventure was no different. Not only was this Uber driver overly friendly and quite talkative, but he was quite passionate about driving in the snow, the rain and other treacherous terrain. He told a story of purposefully leaving to go to Erie so that he would hit 20 some inches of snow to see how his tires worked. I thought to myself-there must be something seriously wrong with picture.

I did make some comment such as "Geez that is incredibly impressive. I can barely drive in regular weather." And so then he went on to discuss the Subaru and how those cars are just simply unstoppable especially if you acquire "snow tires." They are his "favorite and most recommended car." To which I excitedly replied, "I have a Subaru, too." I actually had to thank this stranger because naturally he did not know my background story of my Subaru Impreza or why I had one, but he did go out of his way to make sure everyone in the car knew that the Subaru can handle any treck and any adventure through inches and even in feet of snow. He was so passionate, that we talked really about nothing else for a good 20 minute period.

Sometimes you find a little motivation, a little reassurance and a little confidence from someone you least expect. I have read the reviews of course of my little car and its performance in the snow, but up until tonight I do not think I actually believed it. Well tonight-my heart believed it. Never underestimate the power of passion be it passion about vocation or topic or specific subject because chances are, your passion might just be the little bit of conversational whimsy needed to place hope and peace in the heart of another. Sometimes one man's whimsical passion is the whimsical weakness found in another.
