As of late, my husband and myself have been attending this excellent breakfast place near the Northside of Pittsburgh just a block away from where my brother and his fiance will be dwelling. When my husband comes back at around 7:00 or so, we head to our favorite breakfast place, sit by the corner window, watch the sun shine and enjoy the chatter from the waitresses who appear to know just about everyone who walks through the doors. It is the friendliest atmosphere and the most loving. I think if you walk inside a place where everyone appears to know everyone you know you have found a timeless treasure.

There happens to be one waitress there whom we call the waitress angel. She is just the nicest soul. She greets everyone with a smile, she knows everyone, their life stories, their trials and tribulations. She asks about family members and jobs and is the quickest to come over and fill your coffee cup even if only one or two sips have been taken. There is just something about her that is so special. And I have to say I think sometimes it is in the ordinary places where we fail to acknowledge the most beautiful people. In our society we constantly look for the biggest acts of kindness or the most grandiose. When, you know, all anyone really needs in this world is a warm smile from a hidden angel who fills your coffee cup to the brim with understanding and genuine kindness. The purpose of life is to always find those hidden angels who are so humble and so quiet that they might just fill your coffee cup without you knowing. Keep your eyes carefully open. Because more than likely, wherever you are, you are only a few steps away from an angel.
