If you find yourself losing that spark

that sense of gratitude that used to leave you feeling blessed

thankful, full of pizzaz and spirit and whimsy and just a thirst and a passion 

to spread joy and goodness and community

there is always a reason for the season

and I'm here to say that with adjustments and slight changes

that love comes flooding back

reminding you of your calling, your passions

and allowing you to experience authentic love and joy

this summer with

a little rest and endless creativity

and reconnecting with community

my heart felt like that of a child's

I feel unsure of the future but not lost

unsure but not isolated

unsure but not disheartened

unsure but not filled with anger

unsure and filled with a spirit of calm

that I was made for a time such as this

and filled with gratitude as I watch the sun rise during the early mornings

across a city that will always be home

if you surround yourself with people who wonder, people who laugh, people who love

you'll find yourself wondering and loving and creating harder

than you ever knew imaginable

sometimes perspective needs to shift

but sometimes we just need to find ourselves in a place that allows

perspective to shift 

to the sun

thankful for summer 2022- marked the summer I found myself again

lost but always found

the past never forgotten

but a time to focus on the new that lies ahead
