We recently just received a baby care book from one of Xiao's attending, and he wrote a beautiful message which began with these words: "Welcome to a world where your heart now exists outside your own body." We felt these words were so profound, that we decided to tape them on Luna Mae's wall of art corner. I don't think we could have said what we were feeling better than the way in which these words were so eloquently phrased.

Today is day 6 of having sweet baby Luna Mae brought into our world. A true symbol of growth and rebirth and spring for all of us The best way to say how we have been feeling is simply: having a child of your own is the releasing of a love you never knew existed before this moment. One itty bitty entrance into this world and the way we look at life and the world and the people around us is forever changed. We have more hope in our hearts, bigger dreams, a sense of faith and trust for one another and a whimsical excitement that burns within the very depths of our hearts. As she sees the world for the first time and all the joy and love brought with it, we feel as if we are experiencing these emotions for the very first time as well.

Sweet Luna had quite the entrance into this world. Without intense details, we arrived at the hospital late Monday evening with the assumption that my water had broke (which it had) and began a labor process that would last Monday evening, into all day Tuesday and then through the wee hours of Wednesday morning until she was finally born at 7 AM. I think the labor was a perfect symbol of who we are as a couple. It was difficult, arduous, required intense effort and grit and finally after 3.5 hours of active labor and a marathon type of finish, Luna entered into this world! A reminder to us that passion, love and grit can take you through any challenge and if you can dream it, you can do it.

I anticipate writing many more blogs about our sweet Luna Mae as we continue to watch her grow and love with all of her heart. She is a treasure, a symbol of love and a reminder that just like springtime, sometimes we yearn for a rebirth within ourselves to remember what is truly important, to practice gratitude and see the world with fresh eyes which allows for authentic happiness. We love you little Luna Mae and all that you dream and all that you will become.

Love,

Mommy and Daddy
