Dear Parents,

I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend. Just a reminder that you should be checking your child’s homework every night. Homework logs should be signed daily by a parent (including Fridays!) Students should be practicing their multiplication facts every night! Once they pass their multiplication timed test (2 minutes) they will move on to the next set of multiplication facts. At least 10 minutes should be devoted to facts each night! In addition, students should be practicing their spelling words every night! Studying small chunks every night will make the studying more manageable!

This week we are beginning to review math that has been previously learned. Thus, instead of Social Studies or Science, students will be having an extra 30-minute math review with me towards the end of the day! Despite our rigorous academic schedule, I am encouraging all students to wear CRAZY SOCKS every day this week in honor of National World Down Syndrome Day. This special day takes place on March 21st this year. However, we decided it would be best to celebrate for a full week before spring break. The purpose of wearing crazy socks is to remind all of us that every student in our classroom is unique and diverse in their own way!
