Dear Families,

I hope everyone is staying warm!  I enjoyed meeting and talking to all families during our conferences! Thank you so much!

This is just a reminder that students do need to be reading their Second Accelerated Reader book which is due by the end of November. Students will read the book and then take an AR test related to the book to test for comprehension. At the beginning of the year, we require just one novel to be read per month! This is a great way for students to practice their fluency at home! Students are certainly welcome to read more than one AR book a month if they so desire! The more reading the better!

In addition, I have been reminding students to bring home their math fact level books to practice at home! Students are welcome to use the online games on my website or study with multiplication flashcards as well! Any practice is good practice!

Lastly, this week we have a few performances taking place! The students will see the DMS musical HONK on Tuesday of this week. In addition, students will be going to the symphony Thursday morning and will be coming back in time for lunch! Students should dress in nice attire that particular day! Permission slips should be signed no later than Tuesday of this upcoming week!

Our Theme for this upcoming month is kindness. We are focusing on not thinking about ourselves but complimenting others, being friendly to all of our peers and learning to carry out acts of kindness.

Warmly,

Miss Amoscato
