Dearest Luna Baby,

I think the fifth month must have gone by the absolute quickest. I cannot believe you are now 6 months old (your half birthday.) Every morning I wake up in disbelief that you are ours. You are everything pure and good and true and wonderful about this world and serve as a constant reminder that (despite what may be going on in the sometimes scary world of ours), love always triumphs. Luna Baby, you love with your whole heart. Your dark brown eyes love by looking intently, your little hands love by feeling every new object with wonder, your little nose loves by scrunching up when you smile, and your little mouth loves by talking while mommy is playing piano, reading a book or simply telling a story in your stroller.

You have unique little hand signals that you have started using to show what you need or want. When you are hungry, you generally fuss and make a huffing noise. When you are tired, you put both hands on your eyes and keep them there as if to shield out any light that may be coming through. When you want a position change, you generally give a few coughs. You certainly have a spunk and a spark about you that I think will begin to really shine as time goes on. I cannot wait to see the type of gumption you bring to this world, talent and love.

You are a really fabulous sleeper now. We went through a rough patch when you were waking every two hours when your teeth were coming in, but with a little bit of sleep training, we seem to have found a good beat, and you are so much more well-rested and happier during the day! You are still a morning baby. You are bright, wide-eyed and ready to arise at 5:15-5:30. We always wake up, change our diaper, have a nice cleaning, apply some baby lotion, wash the hands and feet and then begin reading eight or ten books together. You love feeling every single page and often you will begin to tell your own story as mommy is telling the story to you. Afterwards, we always sit at the piano and sing many different songs together. This month, we tried some Halloween songs, and I think we will cut straight to holiday music after that. You LOVE music and hearing the voice of anyone who is singing.

We have officially graduated to our bigger stroller because your feet have started hanging out of the other one. Our cemetery strolls have been gorgeous. Walking through fall is a lot like walking through heaven and watching you watch the leaves fall is another simple pleasure I don't take for granted. You continue to love food and are so very interested anytime someone is eating or drinking around you. You continue to love cereal, squash, egg yolk, avacado and a little puree. We have been taking the solid food one day at a time as you still love your bottle (particularly when you are all snuggled up in your bed.)

Your favorite things to do are looking at nature outside and at the lights inside. ;)

Every new day is a miracle day with you. We thank the heavens that we had such a beautifully strong, sweet and wonderful baby moon. We have loved watching you learn to smile, sit up, vocalize and giggle with sunshine.

You are such a doll baby. We love you to the Luna and all the way back again. We look forward to our first magical holiday season together as we wrap up this year in Pittsburgh.

Love,

Mommy and Daddy
