Dear Families,

We had a beautiful week in the classroom last week, and we look forward to another wonderful 4-day week together! We continue to focus on practicing the qualities of a scholar within the classroom: kindness, excellent citizenship, drive and passion. Just a reminder that you may find all newsletters posted on my site ms.amoscato.com. You can access the newsletter this week by clicking on the Third Grade tab on the top of my website. Then, hovering over with your cursor and clicking on “newsletters.”

In addition, spelling words for this week I have posted on spelling city  https://www.spellingcity.com/view-spelling-list.html?listId=58000598

The spelling list for this week is a list of all high frequency words we hope our students master by the end of the year! They are the following: through, build, neither, tomorrow, bought, minute, view, except, should, young, already, guess, author, neighbor, special.

Students can practice their words online if they wish. Please be checking your student’s homework log nightly as this needs to be signed in the parent comment section underneath the date the homework is assigned. Students should also be reading their Accelerated Reader novel (from the library) 10-15 minutes per night! The more books read this year the better!

Finally, we have our first field trip to take place on Thursday at Beechwood Farms. We will be exploring a lot of the vocabulary we have been learning about in Science with many exciting outdoor challenges and activities with our guide. Please encourage your child to wear long pants (as we will be in the woods) as well as a t-shirt/sweatshirt to place over top due to chillier weather. It is also best to wear sneakers! Students will need to bring a disposable brown paper bag lunch as we will be eating picnic style during our field trip! Thank you again for all of your support and communication!

Warmly,

Mrs. Amoscato
