A young girl is snatched from her bedroom in England and taken to Giant Country by the Big Friendly Giant. Not only does she see firsthand what this BFG does for a living, but she also realizes that not all Giants in giant country are as friendly as this one. Upon learning what the other giants do in their free time, this little girl decides to save the future children once and for all.

Evaluation

Mr. Dahl is quite a peculiar writer. As a teacher and a student, I think his books sometimes require a particular taste for the books he produced in his time. However, out of all the books I have ever read of his, I truly loved this one. The friendship between the little girl and the giant was so sincere. I thought his play on words was quite fascinating and the discussions the two of them had together were raw and spectacular. For those who love an imagination and particularly for those who can actually wake up and remember (or not remember their dreams), I highly recommend this book.
