A spin-off of the classic tale "The Gingerbread man." This book is both humorous, witty and fun for all ages.

Evaluation

I'm not exactly sure why I found this story as fascinating as I did. I suppose I have never sat myself down in the Children's section of the library with the pure intent of discovering unique and utterly humorous folktales. This book is a spin off on one of my favorite classics entitled "The Gingerbread boy." However, in this humorous tale, a grandmother and grandfather create this clay boy who is constantly hungry and expanding in  size. Eventually, the clay boy eats up the two people who created him along with the other villagers. The greatest plot twist occurs at the end of the novel. The reader has become so engrossed in this avalanche of a plot that they forget the clay boy is very brittle because he is made out of clay. When he breaks, the entire town comes out and are reunited with one another. Classic masterpiece and a fun read for children.
