It's the Year 1964 and Glory, an 11 year old girl is just beginning to make sense of the Civil Rights movement surrounding her. This book is delicate, but contains important historical themes threaded throughout. Certainly a story worth reading and hits close to home for many.

Evaluation

I found this book highly engaging. It does an excellent job portraying a girl who is baffled by the racism and predjudice that is happening before her eyes. Certainly a lot of excellent talking points and a read that could be used as early as the end of third grade for more advanced readers.
