The name Jar is a great book for teaching the skill of main idea and detail. In addition, it is an excellent book that focuses on this theme of cultural identity. Unhei is from Korea and is nervous about the fact that no one can pronounce her name properly. The protagonist changes throughout the story as she begins to realize that she should be proud of who she is as a person and where she comes from.
