A beautiful book about a red crayon who is actually (in fact) blue. This story (though an extended metaphor) does a really lovely job of exploring bias and identity issues for young children.

Evaluation

I personally loved this picture book. I think it's a beautiful introductory activity for any classroom or small group of students who perhaps are unfamiliar with this term "identity." This certainly could be used as a good introduction to race and sexuality for young students.
