There were two important lessons I learned from today. The first one was sitting to a pretty excellent sermon in church today about the outlook of challenges and the importance of realizing that moments where you feel hopeless are just realizations that you are living a life full of love. Because to lose hope means you have to care first. Hopelessness is not the absence of love but in the state of finding and wanting to climb the mountain towards greater goodness.
I think sometimes as humans, we fall into tiny puddles of hopelessness because life does happen and so realizing these are actually moments of care creates such a new and inspirint perspective. With the start of October coming soon and the season of Fall (one which always offers countless feelings of hope) it was important I share this reflection today.
And while contemplating this reflection, I came upon this quote from Langston Hughes today I wish to share: Jazz is a heartbeat-it’s heartbeat is yours. You will tell me about its perspectives when you get ready. And though it may not seem like it, this poem does mimic this idea of perspective and the deep care we have inside of us all to lead a life full of love. It's almost as if Langston is saying, we all have the whimsical potential and perspectives are only seen when you acknowledge your readiness or perhaps if you acknowledge your shortcoming and your moments of hopelessness or feelings of "lost ideas" or "lost sense of self." Perhaps whimsy is realized when we feel the least ready to receive it. Interesting food for thought as yet another season passes into the colors of autumn.
