Sometimes you just enter this period of life where you realize there is a shifting happening. It's hard to explain. You wake up one day and you are grateful for the world around you but you want the one leaf you are staring at to either drop or change color before your very eyes. You no longer want to always wake up on the weekend and make coffee in your kitchen but you force yourself out on an adventure to grab a coffee somewhere else and do work. Your soul senses a need for small little bits of change. And you are still filled with joy about purpose in life but those little things that are bugging you about your career or those little shreds of your philosophy that perhaps have been...

I had a remarkable two very long days of conferences and I learned two pretty important and whimsical happenings from these two days. One: I began each conference with "Your child is a beautiful soul." Because let's be honest, I have never met a child who does not possess a beautiful soul. This year, the soul of the world dwells within. Secondly, we may never know one's true capacity to ignite the world unless we first ignite a light in another.  There was one particular set of parents who were just so in awe of their child who had never been given a "true chance" before that a large tear dropped down the face of the father who was telling me that seeing his son so independent and so happy...

My mother sent me this beautiful article about this woman who happened to walk The Camino in France and Spain. Essentially after walking 500 some miles, she came to the realization that sometimes we don't need to answer the question "Why am I here?" as often as we do. Sometimes, we just need to walk in faith, eliminate redundant thinking, stop overthinking and just walk. Walk and realize that our worries will always be placed by other worries. Walk and realize that we can always find gratitude regarding the path we are on and try to enjoy the journey.  And so as we are approaching the month of November, and it is clear that I am physically tired and have been writing less, I am trying to...

Thanks to my new "sister," we went out to dinner together on Saturday evening to a sushi place near where we live. And the experience was the epitome of whimsy. It was a bit hard to explain, but we were lucky enough to secure a table that looked as though you were sitting on the ground in a darknened room with a few glowing lamps here and there. However, the table was deceiving because as you went to sit down, your feet were actually able to rest below your seat as there was a space carved out beneath the table.  It was lovely because it was a small intimate space with little cups decorated with pandas. The waitress was lovely and when it was just us inside the room, you could actually hear...

Today I explored the quaintest little coffee shop overlooking Homewood. Once again, humanity never ceases to amaze me. there are just familial neighborhoods where people actually act as neighbors. They talk to their neighborhoods, they know eachother's stories, they help one another and all of this was reminded inside a single little coffee shop.  With a name like "Everyday Coffee" you are bound to find everyday people talking about everyday things in the most magical of ways. I had to smile because at one point I looked out the window and one of the workers at the shop came from behind the counter and out the door to help an elderly man (whom he cearly knew) inside the shop. Images such as...
