If you haven't found yourself near a body of water in some time-I understand. Life becomes busy. However, a body of water is like a flask of unspoken thoughts and dreams, and so I suggest that you trot down somewhere (it can be a lake or a fountain or even a river.) Essentially, you want to find yourself where you can see your reflection. And just for a moment, look down into that flask of dreams and contemplate where you are now. Remain present. Then, focus on where you intend to be heading in maybe a few hours or a few days, a few months even a few years. I think sometimes just seeing our reflection in such a vast space funnels through our dreams and the dreams of others with greater clarity.
I suppose I've never been on a body of water where I have felt disheartened. In fact, when the sun is shining, there is such a calmness involved in just floating and watching others walk above you, or camp beside you. It's the only time where I suddenly feel like I do have time. Like I own the time that I have. A place where time suddenly seems to just stop. And all you can feel is your body slowly floating along to an untempered rhythmn that actually feels good for once.
It was my husband's birthday and so he chose to go out on the boat with his family. You have to think that maybe a man (who quite literally experiences life at a faster pace than most) needs to go out every once and a while to see his reflection and take it all in or maybe it reminds him of where he came from and all those hours spent on the water as a child. At any rate, there is nothing more whimsical than eating birthday cake and blowing out your candles in a time and a space where there is no time and life feels like it is only floating above the clouds simply enjoying. Simple being. Not thinking. Just being. If you haven't felt the floaty feeling of "just being." Well-I suppose you should find yourself a boat. Probably in a place where you can float. Forget about time. For once-just be.
