Dearest Luca, 

Where in the world has the time gone, my little lad? You are just such a little darling boy. We wake up every day and say to ourselves, "How in the world did we get so lucky?" Your natural gift is both your contagious smile and contentment with the world. Poopy diaper? Content. Hungry? Still content. Fall down? Still content. Contentment is such a complex gift that many of us have to develop and yet here you are..teaching us all how to think about the here and now and simply be content with how life unfolds. 

You are such a strong little lad. You sat up at the 5.5 month mark and can completely sit for hours unassisted. It seems you are probably going to skip the crawling and go right to walking because all you want to do all day is just stand up! You love standing and your little legs are fierce! 

You absolutely adore your sister, Luna. You think she is the funniest little girl in the world. When you are sad, your sister sings and makes you laugh. You help put her down for her "nap time," you sit with her at breakfast and you look at her with the wonder of a little brother. We hope you always help eachother in life and love eachother through every scrape and boo boo (big or small.)

Littlest Luca, we celebrated your half birthday with a half pie from Soergels because we just feel like half birthdays should be celebrated in addition to full birthdays! You are a healthy, growing boy with a love for milk (and not much else yet) and a love for life, people and passing on your happiness. We love your light, and we adore your little laugh. 

May you continue to blossom and bloom. We will be here watching you with wonder and a sparkle in our eyes.
