Today was the day of the dress rehearsal at the church and the most beautiful sun-kissed day to have our rehearsal dinner before the big day. I've spent a lot of time this year contemplating the deeper whimsy behind movements and actions, ideas and decisions but very rarely do I think or even talk about the appearance of whimsy. The whimsy that is not necessarily hidden but is very obviously shining before our eyes allowing us to feel all things beautiful.

As we stepped into the barn to set up the rehearsal dinner, and we turned on the lights, it was one of the most whimsical pictures one could every hope to capture. With the wooden door cracked open, rays of light snuck through and illuminated the ceiling, the walls and everything in between. Combined with large lights fastened to the ceiling draped across the room and fairy lights twinkling in mason jars. It looked like we had caught thousands of fireflies and hung them around the barn-like all the magic in the world was present in those few hours we were eating and laughing and talking together. The soon to be bride and groom smiling and laughing taking in the moments and hours and seconds before the beautiful moment where they would soon say "I do."

So don't push aside those sights that make your insides tingle because those sights are just as much of the whimsy experience as those hidden whimsies beyond the layers of just what we see. Because sometimes what we feel is what we see. And sometimes what we see is what we feel inside.
