As we begin this season before Easter, I always challenge myself to better myself in some way. This year, I have found that I am going to blog once a day about everyday novelties I forget to reflect upon in the everyday hustle and bustle of life. My blog is entitled "Someone Once Told Me The Grass Was Much Greener....Right Where I am."
I am someone who constantly looks towards the future. In the future, how can I change this? In the future, where will I be? What will I be doing? Will I work with different people? How will I get there? We constantly look for the greener grass only to find that, the grass we have in front of us is the grass we should be thinking about because that is where we are. Just maybe-you can challenge yourself to look at the grass differently, too. Maybe the grass is never actually "greener." Maybe, your perspective is what changes. Maybe the greener grass is just a greener YOU.
Where did I get this catch phrase you may ask? Many moons ago, I used to watch this kids show entitled "As Told By Ginger." It wasn't the episodes I remember but rather the soundtrack in the opening lines of the show.
Someone Once Told Me The Grass Was Much Greener....On the Other Side...
The great Macy Gray sang the words to these song lyrics, and I guess it just kind of stuck with me. Cheers to a greener look at the world, a more in-depth appreciation for the grass that lies right in front of you and a sense of comfort found in staying on "your side."
